CDA joins hand with NDMA


The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on the direction of Chairman has temporarily attached its Directorate of Emergency and Disasters Management E&DM with the National Disasters Management Authority (NDMA) to support flood related relief efforts.

Chairman CDA, Imtiaz Inayat Elahi issued special directives to attach the Directorate of Emergency and Disaster Management, headed by Ahsan Ali Mangi, with Natonal Disaster Management Authority on temporary basis.

The Emergency & Disasters Management teams of CDA would comprise of skilled manpower and necessary logistic support. The Directorate will take up the task related to the relief and rehabilitation in addition to its existing responsibilities in the federal capital.

The Chairman CDA, speaking in this regard said that CDA was extending all possible support to NDMA in relief efforts, during present times of distress caused due to unprecedented flooding in large swaths of Pakistan.

Imtiaz Inayat Elahi said that in addition to E&DM team, CDA also intends to support relief efforts in health and hygiene sector. He said that medical team consisting of Director Health Services, Additional Director Health Services and Medical Officer of CDA has also been attached with the NDMA.

He further said that CDA is actively participating in the emergency services and relief efforts and has established Chairman CDA Flood Relief Fund.

Relief goods for the flood affected people are being dispatched regularly to lessen the problems confronting them. He said that the officers of the Authority have donated their two-day whereas the lower employees have donated one-day salary to help boost the efforts of flood relief and rehabilitation.
