The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chapter, has announced that it will launch a massive campaign to collect donations for flood victims from the Kashmiri community living in different parts of Pakistan and abroad.

The decision to this effect was announced by AJK PPP President Chaudhry Majeed at an ‘iftar-dinner’ in Rawalpindi. “People living in Pakistan helped the Kashmiris generously after the devastating earthquake of 2005. Now it is our turn to pay back,” he said while addressing the participants of the ‘iftar-dinner’.

He said that the AJK PPP leaders will visit all those cities of Pakistan where Kashmiri community is living for collecting donations. He said that they have also made a request to the Kashmiris living abroad, especially those who are settled in the UK and USA, to donate funds to the prime minister’s flood relief fund.

“We will make sure transparent delivery of funds to the victims in flood-hit areas,” he added.
